Mangaluru, Jan 13 : Karnataka Province of Apostolic Carmel Congregation was blessed by two new members, as they made their First Profession at St. Ann’s Convent here, on Saturday 11th January 2020, at 10 am.

Sr Ashal Vinitha Sequeira and Sr Jovita Claret DMello were the new brides who committed their lives to Christ through our Apostolic Carmel way of life, making their 1st vows to the Lord, of poverty, chastity and obedience.

The solemn Eucharist was celebrated by Rt Rev Dr Aloysius Paul DSouza, Bishop Emeritus of Mangalore Diocese and concelebrated by four priests. Sr Maria Shamita A C, the Provincial Superior received the vows of the new brides.

After the solemn Eucharist, a felicitation programme was held at St. Ann’s B.Ed College Hall. The new brides along with their parents were felicitated with garlands and flowers.

On this occasion, the three sisters of the province Srs. Renita Baretto, Ancilla Pais and Vinitha Shwetha DSouza, who made their final vows on December 7, 2019 at Maryhill Convent, Mangalore were also felicitated.

The Provincial Superior Sr Shamita in her address greeted the new brides and thanked their parents for giving their daughters to serve Christ through the Apostolic Carmel way of life and urged them to continue to support their daughters to live their consecrated life to the full, through their prayers and blessings. The new brides then expressed their sentiments of gratitude to all who helped them to offer their life to Jesus.

Sr. Julie Ann A. C welcomed the gathering and Sr Pramila DSouza compered the programme. The celebration ended with a fellowship meal.
