Mangaluru, April 26, 2024: Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, exercised his democratic right today by casting his vote at the Ganapathi High School booth, Car Street Mangalore in the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

In a gesture that emphasizes the importance of civic duty, the Bishop arrived at the polling station early in the morning, accompanied by a few members of the clergy. Dressed in his civil dress, he patiently waited in line like any other citizen, demonstrating his commitment to the democratic process.

Upon emerging from the voting booth, Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha encouraged the people of Mangalore to participate actively in the electoral process, emphasizing the significance of each vote in shaping the future of the nation.

“I am delighted to have exercised my franchise today. It is not only a constitutional right but also a moral obligation for every citizen to cast their vote,” remarked the Bishop.

Just a few days ago, he urged the people of Mangalore through video messages in the media to cast their votes and exercise their rights in a democratic structure, emphasizing the collective responsibility of citizens in shaping the nation’s destiny.
