The Exhibition was held on the Theme - "Journey through Socio-Cultural and Natural Environment"

Mangaluru, Nov 16 : ducation at Lourdes Central School has always been envisaged creatively and opportunities to enhance the overall development of the Lourdites which are regularly integrated into the day to day curriculum.

According to the above saying, the Social Science Exhibition for classes I to VIII was conducted on 15th November 2021 in their respective classes. The theme for the day was ‘Journey through Socio – Cultural and Natural Environment ’.

The morning assembly was specially year marked to walk the Lourdites through a journey to the Socio-Cultural and Natural Environment. The entire programme was fine-tuned to reverberate this very important theme. The programme began with the school choir leading the Universal Prayer followed by a Prayer Song after which Shrijani Hegde read out an appropriate thought for the day.

The Principal, Rev Fr Robert D Souza, officially inaugurated the Social Science Exhibition and declared it open. The Masters of Ceremony for the day, Elishia Baptist and Jaydon Baptist enumerated the aims and objectives of the Social Science Exhibition and introduced the topics along with the students from class 1 to 8. All enjoyed listening to a special song on nature rendered melodiously by the school choir. This was followed by a recitation of a Hindi poem by Esther Fernandes of Class 7A under the theme of the Central project ‘Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat. After the school wished the students who were celebrating their birthday, the Principal delivered an excellent message emphasising the crucial role played by the Socio-Cultural and Natural Environment in moulding us into well-rounded individuals.

The topics for each class were as follows:

Class I - Clothes
Class II - Festivals
Class III - Clothes We Wear
Class IV - People Who Made the Difference
Class V -  Transport
Class VI - Climate, Vegetation and Wildlife of different regions
Class VII - Types of Landforms
Class VIII - Role of Industries

This exhibition proved to be a great achievement since students came up with creative ideas and innovative models. The students took active part with their creative and exhilarating performance. It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and develop their social skills. The programme ended with the singing of the School Anthem. The Exhibition ended at 11.30 am with the re-arrangement of the class rooms.
