September 8th is recognised as the feast of the Birth of Mother Mary. It is celebrated worldwide as the feast of Blessed Virgin Mary. In Coastal region it is celebrated as the Monti feast, a day to honour Mary with flowers and have a family lunch together by adding the holy corn and commemorating this day. Besides this we also recognize this day as Girl child day, International literacy day and Sharing day.

St Agnes CBSE school, giving importance to this day, celebrated it in a meaningful way. In preparation for the feast 9 days novena was organised in the school with the wholehearted participation by the teachers in prayer with offering flowers. The students also virtually displayed their love towards Mary by praying in their respective homes with family. The students of Carmel blossoms under the able guidance of their mentors planned various activities to celebrate the birth of Mother Mary by depicting and practicing the virtues of Mother Mary also to make a rosary out of waste material and sharing with the needy.

The school has a history of educating the girls and making them strong pillars of the society. This day is an honour to recognize every girl child. So also, the important part is the recognition of the international literacy day. An educated person can change the world the way he wants to be is the belief of this institution. Finally, as an important part of this day, sharing what is abundant is the great lesson taught in the school. There were various activities organised virtually for the students with regards to the significance of the day.

A formal programme was organised in school to commemorate this day. The day was celebrated with an august gathering of the students of ST Agnes Kannada Primary and High school and parents, the school Administrator, the Principal and staff of St Agnes CBSE school.

It began with a meaningful prayer service by sisters and teachers thanking the lord for the abundant blessings and mother Mary to bestow her choicest blessings on all gathered.

Teacher Dora welcomed the gathering followed by Sr Edna Furtado AC the school administrator addressing the gathering and with her kind word expressing that gazing the compassionate face of God all the problems would be solved she also wished Mother Mary’s choicest blessings on all.

The school principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC also expressed her gratitude and wished everyone on behalf of the feast of Mother Mary.

The main host of the event teacher Priya coordinated the programme systematically and the Vote of thanks was proposed by teacher Chandrika thanking one and all for their presence on this auspicious occasion.

As part of sharing on behalf of Management, the Administrator, the Principal and the staff the special grocery kits were distributed to the students and parents of St Agnes Kannada Primary and High School students. The food kits were also distributed to all the helpers in the campus.

A mid-day meal was also arranged for children at Inchara Home to bring a smile into the face of young children along with providing toiletries and sweets to add on to the joy of sharing.

The programme was well coordinated with the joint effort of teachers Velony and Shanthi.

The Management, the Administrator, the Principal and staff wish everyone a very happy feast.
