Mangaluru, Jan 7 : “Goodbye doesn’t mean the end, it does not say forever. It just means that we will soon meet again.”

"Jyothi Pradhan" ceremony was organised for the outgoing students of Class X and Class XII of Lourdes Central School here, at School Grounds on 4th January 2020. The entire ambience was so warm with outpouring emotions of the outgoing students. The programme commenced at 8.00 am. Shanthika Kudva of Class XI A welcomed the gathering. Prayers of the faithful were led by the teachers Ms Shaila Pereira and Ms Seema Madtha, and student representatives – Sneha Pinto, Larissa, Rhea Lobo and Ninaad. The Vice Principal Mrs Belita Mascarenhas enlightened on the significance of the day and asked them to be a light to others in their life.

Manager Rev. Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza, Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza and Vice Principal Mrs Belita Mascarenhas lit the lamp. They were joined by the parents of classes X and XII namely Ms Viviana Bernhardt and Mr Gopikrishnan Konnanath, class teachers and class representatives.

The pledge was led by the Head Boy Danish Pinto and Head Girl Parvathy Menon to be loyal and grateful to their Alma Mater. Adora Mascarenhas of Class X and Navya Bhandary of Class XII shared their fond memories in the school which was heart touching.

The Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza addressed the students and told the students to go into the world, face the challenges and make a difference.

The Manager Rev. Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza spoke on the occasion and said that he was proud of the students’ achievements in curricular and extracurricular activities, and wished them good luck in their future endeavours.

The students of Classes X and XII presented a small token of love and gratitude to the School . The School Choir wished the students adieu and farewell by singing the Hindi song “Yaad ayenge woh din.” The vote of thanks was delivered by Shraddha Nair of Class XII. The mementoes were presented to the students by the Manager and the Principal. The programme was compered by Adithi Acharya of class IX.
