Mangaluru, Feb 18, 2024 : Under the auspices of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) , in collaboration with all parish pastoral commissions and various organizations in Mangalore South Deanery, a walk was organized from Our Lady of Mercy Church Ullal Panir Church to St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu. During the Lenten period, thousands of Catholic Christians participated in this pilgrimage to change their lives and receive God's grace by doing sacrifices and good works.

Mr. Alwyn D'Souza Paneer, President of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R), said that he remembered the miracle that took place at the time of St Joseph Vaz's self-examination at Mudipu Hill, serving at the Paneer Religious Center about four centuries ago, and today the devotees will walk the path the saint walked.

Under the leadership of Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) Central President Alwyn D'Souza, Rev Fr Victor DMello of Paneer Church inaugurated the marathon. Rev Fr Assisi Rebello, Spiritual Director of Saint Joseph Vaz Shrine, Mudipu , Rev Fr Edward Monis, Spiritual Director of Mangalore South Deanery, Rev Fr John Vaz of Fajir Church participated in this program. Several nuns, priests and many devotees participated in this devotional marathon.
