Bantwal , Oct 22 : Jeevan Jyothi Camp 2018 of Bantwal Deanery was held at Infant Jesus Church here from October 14 to October 17. 123 children from 12 parishes of the deanery participated in the same.

The camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Wilma Bantwal, the chief guest of the day and Rev. Fr. Walter D’Mello, the Vicar Forane of Bantwal deanery by handing over the lighted candles to the participants.

The input sessions on ‘my role in the family” by Mr. Eugene D’Cunha, 'Love and friendship’ by Mr. Alban D’souza, ‘Career guidance’ by Prof. Vishal Pinto, ‘Media education and substance abuse’ by Fr. Arun Lobo,’Sacraments, Liturgy and prayer’ by Fr. Joel Lopez, ‘Vocation’ by Fr. Frederick Monteiro, Mr. Rocky and Lilly D’Souza were given to the participants.

The convener of the programme Fr. Johnson Sequeira along with Fr. Ashwin Crasta, Fr. Melwin D’Souza, Fr. Joel Lopez, Fr. Kiran Pinto and 14 animators helped at the camp.

The camp had a fitting conclusion on the 17th evening with a cultural programme followed by a concluding ceremony at which Fr. Walter D’Mello recalled the initial years of Jeevan Jyothi camp and urged the students to march ahead with the values learnt here. Participants were given appropriate prizes for their active participation.
