Mangaluru, Feb 6 : Rosa Mystica Teachers' Training Institute, Kinnikambla celebrated its Platinum Jubilee on 5th February 2021.

Sr Rose Celine, BS the Superior General, of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, the president addressing the audience at the celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Rosa Mystica Teachers Training Institute (TTI) said, ‘75 years ago Mgr RFC Mascarenhas dreamed to reach out to the interior villages of India and train the young girls to be teachers in the Primary schools to bring in the knowledge of literacy. When he opened the TTI it was a premier institute which imparted knowledge coupled with reality of life i.e., weaving, craft, agriculture, community living and many more skills were included in their curriculum. Above all they were taught human values, to be women of love and compassion with which when they left the institute. This enabled them to swim amidst the storms of life with courage'.

Rev Fr Antony Lobo, Parish Priest of Pompei Church Kinnikambla, releasing the souvenir “Suvasini” urged the students of TTI and the audience to practice the formula of 1+1 i.e., if you order one meal for you, another meal you give to the needy poor person; if you are educating your son/ daughter help another poor child to get at least the basic education. He insisted that each one teach one will enhance the quality of relationships.

Sr Cicilia Mendonca, BS the Provincial and Corporate Manager of BES Mangalore Province applauded the hard work of the Principals, teaching staff and student teachers from the inception of this institute. 

Shri Malleswamy, Director, Public Instructions and Director of DIET, Mangaluru advised the Student Teachers to value life. He said, ‘Do not say yes to failure, loss of life, loan, problems and pressures of life. But say Yes to LIFE AS LIFE IS PRECIOUS’. He also instilled hope into them by promising to help them out with employment after their studies.

Mrs Sulochana Bhat, representative of old students shared her experience which enhanced the morale of the group when she said she has given tuitions free of cost to the poor, a value which she learnt from this institute. She was honoured for her service to the poor and for sponsoring the day’s expenses.

Rtd Staff Teachers Shri Narasimha Bhat and Mrs Kanakamma were honoured with gratitude for their love filled and value based service to the institute. Former Principals Sr Virginia BS, Sr Assumpta BS, Sr Concepta BS and Sr Grace Ida BS were honoured with memento, shawl, flowers and fruits. On behalf of Principals, Sr Assumpta BS expressed her sentiments of gratitude.

As leading lights and guiding stars of D Ed institute, the Superior General and President of Bethany Education Society Rev Sr Rose Celine and the present Principal of D Ed institute, Mrs Lavina Lobo were honoured. Superior of Rosa Mystica Convent Sr Juliana Monis was present on the dais.

Rev Sr Mariebelle BS the campus Correspondent welcomed the gathering; The Principal Lavina Lobo presented the exciting Platinum Jubilee report. Mrs Jasmine Moras introduced the honoured personalities, Mrs Vena Bennis proposed vote of thanks and Shri Ronald Carlo was the master of ceremonies.
