Mangaluru, Nov 16 : Under the dynamic leadership of Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest, Liturgy seminar was organized in St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga on 14th November, 2021.

To initiate this propitious occasion, The Liturgy Committee implored for the Blessings of God the Almighty through a Prayer Service which included the Scriptural passage and the short reflection followed by the traditional felicitous Lamp Lighting Ceremony emblematizing the darkness of ignorance be swept away by the dawn of self-actualization. Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest; Rev Fr Vijay Machado, Director, DBCLC - Resource Person; Mr Ravi Saldanha and Mr Prakash Pereira - Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Mr Maurice Renjal- Coordinator Parish Pastoral Commissions; Sister Sujatha, Coordinator- Commission for Liturgy were on the dais for the inauguration ceremony.

Rev Fr Anil D Mello in his Presidential Address articulated the ways in which Liturgy is the Centre of Christian Life. Mrs Anita Menezes verbalized sentiments of warm, sociable, affectionate welcome and then introduced Rev Fr Vijay Machado, Resource Person to the audience.

Rev Father Vijay Machado clearly expounded the meaning of Liturgy, Forms of Liturgy in the Roman Catholic Church, Guidelines for Preparation and Participation, Liturgical Seasons with the help of discussions, probing, PowerPoint Presentation, Facts of Life. It was indeed an invigorating Input Session which quickened the minds, energised the body and awakened the soul.

Mrs Lucy Pinto compered the programme and Sister Sujatha proposed the vote of thanks. More than 100 parishioners were present for the seminar.
