Mangaluru, Nov 17 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Bondel Unit organised "Shining Stars" Children's Day Celebration to all the children of the Bondel parish from 1st -10th std on 14th November 2021, at English Medium School, Bondel.

After 8:30 am mass all the children were provided breakfast. At 10.00 am the event began with prayer service. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza Parish Priest and ICYM Director, Fr. Peter Gonsalves ICYM Assistant Director, Fr. Rupesh Tauro Assistant Parish Priest, Mr. Wilfred Alvares and Mrs. Zeena Cornelio ICYM Animators, Mr. Reginald Pinto Vice President and Mr. Steevan Noronha Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, ICYM President Godwin Cutinha and ICYM Secretary Preeval Saldanha were the dignitaries on the dais.

ICYM Bondel Unit President Godwin Cutinha welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by lighting candles on the Banana shoot. The dignitaries honored Jawahar Lal Nehru by offering flowers. Fr. Andrew Leo Dsouza gave a message to the children. ICYM Secretary Preeval Saldanha gave a vote of thanks. Master of ceremony was Michelle.

ICYM City Council President Melston Noronha and Auditor Anish Menezes were part of the programme. Children were divided into 10 groups and games were conducted by ICYM members. All children actively participated in the games and enjoyed the programme. ICYM members entertained the kids by flash mob. Prizes were given to the highest scored group.

At the end all children were given a cake. Altogether 400 children were part of the programme. The programme ended with baila.
