Mangaluru, Nov 1 : Inspired by the spirit of their founder Servant of God RFC Masarenhas, since the inception of the Congregation, Bethany Sisters have championed the cause of the poor and the marginalized of the society especially women and girl children. In the year 1995 The Bethany Social Service Trust® (BSST) was registered. Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra as its unit carries on the works of liberation and empowerment activities to various categories of people. It’s a hub of multifarious developmental activities such as Promotion of Self-Help Groups, Empowerment of Women, Development of Women Entrepreneurship, Counselling Services, Integrated Child Development Programs, Summer Camps, Sahodaya Competitive Examination, Field Placement Agency for BSW/MSW Students, Prevention of Human Trafficking and unsafe Migration, Networking with GO’s and NGO’s and Collaboration and networking with National Amrat Talithakum India unit.

It was a joyous moment on November 1, 2023 for Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra the unit of Bethany Social Service Trust® to be the recipient of Dakshina Kannada District Rajyotsava Award 2023 in recognition of their social service to humanity. For the past 28 years Sahodaya continuously renders selfless services to the women, children, youth, migrants, domestic workers and those in distress.

This accomplishment is a significant milestone in the history of Bethany Social Service Trust ® and its arm Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra. It is a great privilege and honour to receive this special award which in turn calls us for greater commitment and dedication to the needy humanity on the peripheries.

Bethany takes this opportunity to extend their thankfulness to the District Rajyotsava celebration committee for selecting their NGO to receive this award. They are indebted to our Ex MLA Mr JR Lobo, and Mr Navin the Corporator for their recognition of their services and for recommending their NGO for the award. They aim to reach their goal to bring fullness of life for all especially the poor, and marginalised. Let the flag of Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra fly high and bring glory to God through the humanitarian services and continue to reflect the compassionate face of Jesus in response to the Charism of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany.
