Mysuru, Feb 5 : In a poignant ceremony held at De Sales Bhavan, Mysore on 25th January 2024, seven individuals consecrated as Lay Associates in the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, South West India Province, marking the culmination of a year-long intensive formation program.

The following candidates made their solemn consecration:

1. Angela Mercy
2. Elsy A.T.
3. James Jacob
4. Mercy Vincent
5. Philomena Lewis
6. Rose Mary Thomas
7. Vincent John Bosco

Having successfully completed the prescribed formation program, these individuals showcased unwavering commitment to the values and spiritual ethos of the MSFS Congregation. It is emphasized that membership does not grant additional privileges but serves as a pathway for personal growth, spiritual development, and alignment with the MSFS mission.

The consecration ceremony, presided over by Fr. Thomas Kalariparambil, Provincial Superior, included a solemn Eucharistic celebration. Fr. Sudeep Paul, Coordinator of Fransalian Associates for the South West India Province, presented the candidates to the Provincial.

During the ceremony, the candidates made a heartfelt commitment, pledging to live their baptismal consecration fervently and strive for holiness according to the Way of Life and Statutes of the Fransalian Associates. They also resolved to follow Jesus Christ more closely, drawing inspiration from the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Francis de Sales.

Fr. Thomas Kalariparambil, in his preaching, highlighted the role of Fransalian Associates as salt and light to the community. He encouraged them to cultivate a special bond with St. Francis de Sales, practice ordinary virtues, stay connected with people, offer comfort to those in need, and develop a personal devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

This consecration signifies a significant milestone for the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales, and the congregation looks forward to the valuable contributions of these newly consecrated Lay Associates in supporting mission projects and fostering the Salesian spirit.
