Chitradurga : Bishop Francis Serrao administers Sacrament of Confirmation to 26 candidates at Hiriyur Church

Chitradurga, Jan 23 : Most Rev. Francis Serrao Sj, Bishop of Shimoga confirmed 26 children of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur in the Chitradurga district belonging to the Diocese of Shimoga, on 10th January 2021.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza welcomed the Bishop. At 10am, Bishop examined the children and catechised them together with their parents. At 10:30 Holy Eucharist was celebrated. In his homily Bishop stressed on faith and prayer and its importance in Catholic life in today's context. After the homily, Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza presented the children to the Bishop. Then the Bishop confirmed the children.

Whole ceremony was meaningfully celebrated. Fr Franklin D'Souza thanked the Bishop and Assistant Parish Priest Fr Nelson D'Souza who prepared the children for the confirmation.
