Bengaluru, Dec 8 (CCBI) : Fr. Chetan Machado (46) was reappointed as the CCBI Youth Commission Secretary for another term of four years. He will continue till 31st December, 2024. The appointment was made by the CCBI Executive Committee meeting held on 7 December, 2020. Fr. Chetan is currently the National Chaplain of YCS/YSM and the Coordinator of the CBCI Youth Council.

Fr. Chetan was born on 8 December 1975 in Shirva, Udupi, Karnataka. He did his initial schooling at Don Bosco School, Shirva and completed his graduation at St. Mary’s School Shirva. He joined St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore in 1993 and went to the major seminary, Holy Trinity College, Jalandhar and completed his philosophical studies in 2000. He studied theology in Vidyajyoti, Delhi from 2002 to 2006.

He was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Delhi on 2 May 2006. He served the Archdiocese of Delhi as assistant parish priest at St. Alphonsa Church, Vasant Kunj, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Editor of the Archdiocesan website, Director of Youth Commission, Yuvodaya, Head of the department of Media (Audio Visual) Production and theatre of the Commission for Social Communications. He was the Secretary of the Regional Youth Commission (RYD) of Northern Region.
