Mangaluru, May 31, 2018 :  Students received their degrees as St Aloysius College held their graduation ceremony on Friday, May 25.

Provincial of Karnataka Jesuit province, Fr Dr Stanislaus D'Souza declared the ceremony open followed by the oath taking led by Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, Fr Dionysius Vaz.

Fr Dr Sebastian L Raj, pro vice-chancellor of St Xaviers University, Kolkata was the chief guest. He spoke about the importance of constitutional values, safeguarding and promoting the pluralistic ethos of India, imbibing Jesuit values such as excellence, aspiration, social work and spirituality. Eevery educational institution in our country should teach these cherished values to students and ensure that they imbibe these in their personal life", he said.

The provincial and the rector addressed the graduates on the importance of reconciliation, need for all round development, critical and innovative thinking.

Fr Dr Praveen Martis, principal of St Aloysius College welcomed the gathering. Dr A M Narahari, registrar submitted the list of graduates and rank holders. The awarding of the rank certificates and special prizes by the chief guest was followed by the distribution of degree certificates of under graduate and post-graduate courses. Dr Aruna Kalkura, convenor of the graduation day programme, rendered the vote of thanks. The provincial presented the chief guest with a memento. The programme concluded with national anthem.
