Mangaluru, Feb 13 : The Primary Sports Day at St. Theresa's School Bendur on 13 February 2024 was a vibrant event filled with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Mr. Ashwin Padukone, Head Coach of Padukone Table Tennis Centre for Excellence, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by distinguished guests including correspondents Sr. Shaila BS, Principal Sr. Lourdes BS, Vice Principal Sr. Reena, and PTA Vice-President Mr. Sujith Noronha.

The program commenced with a Guard of Honour, followed by an invocation and a warm welcome extended to all attendees. The highlight of the event was the inspection of the parade and the impressive march past, showcasing the discipline and spirit of the participating students. The ceremony further included flag hoisting, symbolizing the unity and pride associated with sports, along with the lighting of the Sports Jyoti, signifying the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

A mass drill demonstrated the coordination and teamwork among the students, followed by the oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing fair play and respect for fellow competitors. The inaugural speech provided motivation and encouragement to all participants, setting the tone for an exciting day ahead. The sports meet was officially declared open amidst cheers and applause.

Felicitation ceremonies honored the esteemed Chief Guest, acknowledging his contribution to sports development, followed by a heartfelt vote of thanks expressing gratitude to all involved in making the event a success. The program concluded with a march off, symbolizing the conclusion of the opening ceremony and the beginning of the sporting events.

The running races, tailored for students from grades 1 to 5, were conducted with fervor and energy. Participants showcased their athletic abilities, and winners were duly recognized and honored for their achievements.

The closing ceremony marked the culmination of the day's festivities, featuring the lowering of the flag accompanied by the national anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism. Overall, the Primary Sports Day at St. Theresa's School was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among the students. The sports meet was successfully conducted under the guidance of PT Instructor Mrs. Anitha Dsouza.
