Mangaluru, April 2 : The Sacred Paschal Triduum initiated with the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday with much devotion and piety in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga on April 1, 2021.

Rev Fr Anil D Mello, Parish Priest accorded a genial and an affable welcome to the congregation assembled to immortalize Jesus’s directive to serve others, manifested explicitly in the washing of feet and the celebration of the Eucharist. Further he introduced Rev Dr Fr Rocky D Cunha, The Rector of Kripalaya Seminary of Capuchins, Mysore and invited him to celebrate the Eucharist. The virtues of Love and Service and the two Sacraments of Eucharist and Priesthood instituted by Christ at the Last supper were so efficaciously woven around Motivational Stories, unique anecdotes, inspirational quotes of Pope Francis, Pope Paul II, Winston Churchill, Rabindranath Tagore, St Francis Assisi, St. Francis Xavier, by Rev Dr Fr Rocky D Cunha in his Homily that aided the faithful to draw out gems of wisdom and insight. It was indeed a thought-provoking Homily.

After the Homily Foot -Washing ceremony took place and the recipients of the Foot-Washing ceremony were the Gurkars of the 16 wards of the Parish that demonstrated the specificity of love. Thereafter there was something very potent that the Gurkars washed the Feet of the Members of a Family of their respective ward. Rev Fr Anil D Mello conducted the Adoration service reflecting on ‘Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane' that was indeed illuminative and spellbinding.
