Mangaluru, Mar 17 : The Platinum birthday of Rev Fr Patrick Lobo and the Inauguration of the elevator was held at Infant Mary Church Bajjodi here, on Saturday 14th March 2020. The celebration began with a Solemn Thanksgiving Mass that was celebrated at 5.30p.m by Fr. Patrick Lobo who completed 75 beautiful years of his life. The mass was concelebrated with 15 priests. Relatives, friends and well wishers of Fr. Patrick along with the parishioners joined him in thanking the Lord for the numerous blessings during the past 75 years of his life.

A short prayer service was conducted and the new lift was inaugurated by Provincial Superior Fr. Charles Serrao. A sapling was planted by Fr. Patrick Lobo to mark the special occasion. The celebration then continued with the programme wherein Provincial Superior Fr Charles , Fr. Pius James, Fr. Ivan Dsouza, Fr. Joseph D'souza, Superior Fr. Wilfred Rodrigues, Carmelite priests from Carmel hill and priests from neighbouring region, Vice President Prakash Saldhana, Secretary Irine Pinto, family members of Fr. Patrick Lobo and parishioners were present.

The program began with a prayer song by Parish Children's choir group. Irine Pinto welcomed the gathering. Little children then put up a dance that brought smiles on everyone's face. Fr. Patrick Lobo along with Provincial Superior, Parish Priest, family members and little children of the parish cut the Platinum birthday cake, which was followed by a wishing song composed by Lancy Moras and sung by the choir group of the parish. Fr. Ivan Dsouza raised the toast and wished him well. The parish youth put up a beautiful dance that cheered the audience. Flash back of Fr. Patrick's life was played in a video presentation, that was nicely compiled by Fr. Joseph D'souza and Fr. Ivan D'souza. On behalf of the province, Provincial Superior Fr. Charles Serrao wished Fr. Patrick Lobo and presented him a flower pot. Bajjodi parishioners and Family members too took turns to wish Rev. Fr Patrick Lobo on this occasion.

Rev. Fr Patrick Lobo expressed his feelings and thanked all the parishioners for their love and affection that they conveyed through this birthday celebration. Mr. Prakash Saldhana proposed vote of thanks. Renita D’souza compered the programme. Refreshments were served to all those present. The programme was organized by the cultural committee.
