Mangaluru, Sep 1 : Catholic Action League in collaboration with Young Catholic Students Bendur, on the occasion of National Youth Sunday organized “Heal the Earth” program, under the ECD green drive initiative.

The liturgy of the 5pm mass on 10th August 2021 was taken up by the members of CAL and YCS. A short program was held where saplings were planted and distributed.

Mr. Winston Saldanha, CAL president welcomed the gathering. Saplings were planted by V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monterio, Director; Rev. Fr Ronson Pinto, Asst. director of CAL; Rev. Fr Ashwin Crasta, Asst. director of YCS; Mr Vinod Dsouza, CAL animator and Mrs. Anita Frank, YCS animator. The President and Secretary of CAL and YCS also planted saplings.

In his message, V. Rev. Fr Vincent Monterio lauded the youth for taking up the initiative of distributing saplings. Mr Leon Saldanha, Diocesan ICYM president; Mr Sanjay Dsouza, ECD ICYM president and Mr Shawin Dsouza, ECD media representative were greeted with saplings by V. Rev. Fr Vincent.

Saplings were distributed to the youth of the parish. The youth enthusiastically participated in the event and more than 45 saplings were distributed and planted by the Youth of Bendur Unit.
