Prior to 2018, Nellyadi was a substation of St. John Baptist parish, Kokkada. Infant Jesus Chapel , Nellyady with 80 families was declared a parish in 2018 with the decree of Bishop Aloysius P Dsouza of Mangalore Diocese. Rev Fr Vincent Dsouza (Jr) was appointed its first Parish Priest.
