Mangaluru, July 20 : As 16 July 2018 marked the 150 years of the existence of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, St. Agnes College conducted a Poster Making competition on the theme – “The Apostolic Carmel Congregation Celebrates 150 Years.” The students came up with different representations which depicted the Charism and the Mission of the Congregation. There was also a pencil sketch competition, where the students were asked to draw the portrait of Mother Veronica – the Founder of the Congregation. Many students actively participated in these events and the best ones were awarded.

On July 13, 2018 the Catholic students and the teaching as well as the Support staff of the St.Agnes Campus Institutions took part in the Holy Mass offered to mark the occasion at St. Sebastian’s Church, Bendore.

On July 14, 2018 there was a campus staff get-together arranged by the Management at 12p.m. The programme began with the prayer lead by the Faculty members of the College. The students of St. Agnes CBSE School welcomed the gathering with their gracious dance. Sr Dr Maria Roopa A.C, the Superior and Joint Secretary of the institutions, welcomed gathering, after which the symbolic representation of 150 years was inaugurated by Sr Dr Agatha Mary A.C, the former Superior General of the Congregation. Sr. Pearl Ann, from the Apostolic Carmel Spirituality Centre spoke briefly on the Charism of the Congregation and the role of the teachers in uplifting the same. A documentary was then shown on the history, growth and mission of the Congregation, after which all were invited for a fellowship meal.

On July 16, 2018 -the day of The Sesquicentennial Celebrations of the Congregation, A Holy Mass was offered in the Convent chapel. Fr. Wilfred OCD was the main celebrant along with the other guest priests who concelebrated the Eucharistic Sacrifice. Religious Sisters from the neighbouring convents, the ACA's, the Hostellers and others joined the celebration. A short programme was arranged and Sr.Maria Roopa A.C - the Superior of the Convent welcomed the gathering. A short documentary was presented on the Congregation, during which the 150 houses built by the congregation to mark the occasion were also shown. The sisters of the convent sang the Sesquicentennial Anthem. The Superior thanked the guests and all of them were invited to partake in a fellowship meal.
