Bangkok, Aug 26 : There is a forum of the Franciscan Family which functions Internationally and Nationally as well, called as Association of Franciscan Families in India (AFFI). This year for the first time , South Asian Franciscan Major Superiors' Conference was organized in Camillian Pastoral Centre, Bangkok, Thailand from August 18th – 24th 2019 for which there were the representatives of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Srilanka.

“Inter religious Dialogue and Peace Building” was the theme, which was in commemoration of 800th Anniversary of the Encounter between St Francis and Sultan. For the interreligious dialogue on the first day, there were the speakers from Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islamism. All spoke appreciating the aspect of peace in one another’s religion.

The sixty participants continued their seminar for four days specially to discuss Franciscan Spirituality in South Asian Context. At present Fr Praveen OFM is the AFFI president; so together with the executive team and the coordinator, Fr Nithiya OFM Cap it was well planned and organized.
