Tanzania, April 2 : On 20th of March 2019 along with Fr. Vincent Monteiro & Fr. Alwyn M. J. D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha visited the African Regional House of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters (UFS) at Assisi Same, Tanzania. Ursuline Franciscan Sisters congregation was founded in Mangalore in 1887 and in 2015 they started the mission in Africa. Currently more than 20 Indian (Mangalore) sisters are serving in Africa Region.

In the morning Bishop offered Holy Eucharist at regional house chapel along with resident sisters and candidates. Fr. Vincent & Fr. Alwyn concelebrated the Eucharist. After the Holy Eucharist there was introductory formal gathering and then sisters welcomed bishop and Fr. Vincent and felicitated them with garland and shawl. After the introductory program bishop enjoyed the sumptuous breakfast prepared by sisters. Sisters were happy to have bishop at their place.

Afterwards bishop visited the Assisi Vocational Training Center and interacted with students and then he visited Assisi Primary school and interacted with children and motivated them to do well in academics. After school visit he departed to regional Novitiate house which is located near to bishop’s house same. He interacted with pre-novices and shared his experience in pastoral ministry. After the ephemeral discussion he departed to KiseKibaha.
