Belman, April 13, 2018 : St Joseph Church, Belman established in 1894 , inaugurated its post centenary silver jubilee year on April 11.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Jerald Isaac Lobo along with guest priests. In his homily, the bishop highlighted importance of celebrating jubilee. The bishop highlighted thanking the Lord for his endless blessing, to forget and forgive the wrong doing of each other and to celebrate the jubilee year all together as one family with one heart and soul.

After the Mass, a programme was held to inaugurate the jubilee year symbolically by releasing the jubilee calendar which contains the projects and the events to be held throughout the year. The vicar-vara of Shirva varado Fr Stany Tauro released the calendar and gave his message. Parish priest of Belman church Fr Edwin D’Souza welcomed and thanked everyone for lending help for the jubilee celebration.

Vice-president Alwyn Ageira read out the history of the jubilee year. At the end, refreshments were served to all.
