Pamboor, April 9 : Easter Eve was celebrated at Holy Cross Church here on 8 April 2023. The Easter Eve ceremony began at 7:15PM with the blessing of the fire and lighting up the Easter candle at the church premises. Rev.Fr. Steven Fernandes, Rev.Fr. Charles Furtado OFM(Cap), Rev.Fr.Henry Mascrenhas conducted the ceremony. Fr.Steven lit up the Easter candle and took it in procession inside the church. The Easter Hymn was sung by Dr Vincent Alva with the candles lit up by the parishioners individually.

The second section consisted of a proclamation of the Word of God which consisted of 4 readings from the old testament and 2 from the new testament followed by the singing of Psalms after each reading. The Third section consisted of the blessing of Holy water and renewal of Baptism promises. The Fourth section consisted of Eucharistic celebration. During the homily, Fr.Charles conveyed the message of Easter and also spoke about its importance in our christian life. He also mentioned the saying of St.Augustine - "We are Easter people and Alleluia is our Hymn".

After the mass Rev,Fr.Henry Mascarenhas conveyed his greetings and honored the people who stood as sponsors and those who provided their tireless service during the Holy Week. The Easter edition of the parish Magazine "Khursaacho Taalo" was released and the prizes were distributed to the winners of crossword and other contests.
