Attur - Karkala, Aug 2 : St Lawrence Minor Basilica, Attur celebrated the 7th anniversary of Basilica proclamation on Tuesday, August 1st 2023 with the inauguration of nine-day Novena ahead of the Titular feast. Both these events were launched by Monsignor Ferdinand Gonsalves, Vicar General of the Diocese of Udupi by unfurling of the flag.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Alban D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Rev Monsignor in his message highlighted the importance of the Basilica and St Lawrence' feast.

Sunitha Pinto delivered vote of thanks. The program was compered by Ronald Noronha, the parish pastoral council secretary.

Assistant parish priest Fr Larry Pinto, Spiritual director Fr Roman Mascarenhas, Kripa Kiran's Capuchin priest Fr Maxim Nazareth and large number of faithful were present.

Later Monsignor Ferdinand Gonsalves led the adoration and celebrated the holy mass on the theme "Family is a Community".

Fr Larry Pinto conducted nobena on the first day. Lunch was served to the faithful.
