Karkala , Sep 4 : The faithful of Nirmal Padav Church, Parapady celebrated community day on 2nd September 2018. The celebration began with the holy eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr Herald Pereira, the director of SCC of the diocese of Udupi. The theme of the day was 'Together we build community'. After the holy eucharist there was a break for tea followed by cultural program in the hall.

The programme began with a prayer service lead by Mrs.Precilla Lobo, welcomed by Mrs. Jecintha Dsa, the co-ordinator of SCC. The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by all representatives of the 5 wards. Mrs Florine Noronha, the co ordinator of the SCC of Karkala deanery was present as the Chief guest. She addressed the gathering quoting Mother Theresa 'Let your hearts love one another and let your hands serve one another'.

In view of the community day clebration , there were competitions like inter ward quiz, cricket, best out of waste and tug of war. The prizes were distributed for the winners.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Vincent Lobo addressed the gathering recalling the gradual growth of SCC and faith life of community. Rev. Fr. Herald Pereira conveyed the greetings of the day and in his address appreciated the growth of SCC in the parish.

Mrs.Lidwin Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was mastered by Ms. Joslin Lobo. All the 5 wards prepared variety of food items and at the end of the programme all enjoyed a delicious food. More than 170 people took part in this programme and witnessed the unity of the church.
