Mangaluru, Dec 8, 2020 : Sisters of Charity of Mangalore Province hosted the golden Jubilee celebration of twelve sisters namely, Sr. Anandi D’Souza, Sr. Aurelia Augustine K., Sr. Florine Andrade, Sr. Gabriella Fernandes, Sr. Gerosita D’Souza, Sr. Irene Colaco, Sr. Ida Mendonca, Sr. Judith D’Costa, Sr. Stella Crasta, Sr. Severine D’Souza, Sr. Vineetha Rodrigues and Sr. Zepherine Francis M.

The day was marked with twin celebrations; the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Our Mother and the 50 Golden fruitful years of God’s fidelity in the life of Golden Jubilarians.

The chief celebrant, Episcopal Vicar for Religious – Rev. Fr. Paul Melwin D’Souza began the solemn celebration of the Eucharist with a note of appreciation to the jubilarians for their life of commitment through which they have added life and holiness to the Church. He invited to count and to recount constantly the graces and blessings of God and said “It is a celebration of God’s grace as the sisters have offered to God what was best in them, best of their efforts, enthusiasm, service, sacrifice and energy and have expressed their faithfulness to God and they have become blameless before Him. So count on health not your wealth, count your years not your tears, count your blessings instead of crosses and count on your God not on yourself”. The presence of concelebrant Fr. Lawrence Fernandes added joy for the celebration.

They were felicitated by the Provincial Superior Sr. Irene Menezes while Sr. Anita Pinto and Sr. Shalini Fernandes read out in brief the faithful story of each jubilarians. Sr. Ida Mendonca and Sr.Vineetha Rodrigues responded on behalf of the jubilarians their gratitude. Sr. Aileen Mathias compered the programme and kept up the solemnity.

The beautifully decked hall, cutting of Jubilee cake, angelic choir and felicitation programme and sumptuous meal made the day a joyous and memorable one.
