Mangaluru, Sep 10 : The Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany has been celebrating its centenary year in 2021. As a memorial of its great event the congregation has decided to build 100 houses to the poor all over India. As a part of its project Mangalore Province had decided to build 7 houses. On September 9th 2020 the 3rd and 4th houses were inaugurated at Ajekar and at Pilarkhan in Udupi District.

Mrs. Eupresia Fernandnes's house warming ceremony was held at 10.30 am at Ajekar Parish. Rev Sr Cicilia Mendoca the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province inaugurated the house by cutting the ribbon and Fr Sunil D’Silva blessed the house. In his message he called upon the family members to build the house not by bricks but by union of hearts. He appreciated the life and work of R.F.C Mascarenhas, the Founder of Bethany Congregation of serving the poor and the marginalized. He applauded the service of Bethany Sisters to the poor and the society at large.

At 3.30 pm, Mrs Veronica, Albun Nazareth's house was inaugurated by Rev Sr Cicilia Mendonca the Provincial Superior by cutting the ribbon and the house was blessed by Fr Vishal Lobo. He appreciated the good initiative of Bethany Sisters and wished well for the family.

The Provincial Superior called upon the family members to build the family through deep faith and prayer. She invited them to live in unity and love which will be a boon for the building up of their family.

Bethany Sisters from various communities were present. The celebration was held keeping in mind the restrictions of Covid - 19. Both the families are grateful for the generosity of Bethany Sisters towards them and their families.
