Surathkal, Oct 4 : On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, in collaboration with Karnataka Coastal Guard Police, ICYM Surathkal unit organised 'Vraksha Vandhan' on 2nd October 2022 from 9:30 am onwards in the premises of Karnataka Coastal Guard Police Station, Tannirbavi.

Around 500 plants were planted in the premises. Asst. Director ICYM Surathkal Fr. Richard Dsouza, Environmentalist Mr. Jeeth Milan Roche, ICYM Surathkal unit members, YCS Surathkal members, ICYM Surathkal Deanery members, Aloysius College Mangalore students and the Coastal Guard Police actively involved in the plantation drive. Each member has adapted a plant by tying a name tag to the plant. Breakfast and lunch was served.

At 2:30 pm there was an input session by Sir Dinesh, PSI Karnataka Coastal Guard Police on Drug Addiction, substance abuse, future and career building of youth. It was a very informative session.

The plantation continued till 3 pm. This way it was a very good opportunity for all to serve mother nature by successfully completing the plantation drive.
