Surathkal, Oct 18 : To encourage singing talent and foster unity among parishioners ,ICYM Surathkal unit conducted an "Inter-Ward Group Singing Competition" on October 15, 2023 at 2.30 PM at Mahima Hall, Surathkal.

The event commenced with an engaging introduction and welcome speech by Emcee Sweedol Pereira. Mr Arson Lobo Introduced the Judges of the event. V Rev Fr Austin Peter Peres addressed the gathering about music ,voices and how music unites all people and honoured the Judges.

V Rev.Fr. Austin Peter Peres, Parish Priest, Surathkal Church, Ms Teena Rebello, Animator of ICYM, Mr Joseph Pinto ,Mr Lawerance Baptist, Mr Dolvin Kolalgiri, Mr Joyvin D'Souza, president of ICYM, Ms Maria D'Silva, secretary of ICYM were present on the dais.

10 wards competed in the competition. Pitch and quality of the voices, Rhythm ,Expression and modulation was the Judging Criteria. Mr Joseph Pinto ,Mr Lawerance Baptist, Mr Dolvin Kolalgiri were the Judges for the event.

In Valedictory ceremony , Mr Russel Roche (Vice President of PPC), Mr Joseph Pinto ,Mr Lawerance Baptist, Mr Dolvin Kolalgiri, Ms Teena Rebello, Animator of ICYM, Mr Joyvin D'Souza (President of ICYM), Ms Maria D'Silva (Secretary of ICYM), Ms Daina (Cultural Secretary of ICYM) took the platform.

The Judges gave their opinion on the event, Mr Russel Roche congratulated the crowd and encouraged ICYM Surathkal by stating there will be support from parishioners for all the programs. Ms Daina announced the winners, Ms Maria proposed the vote of thanks.
