Bantwal, Jun 23 : St Joseph Church, Borimar celebrated its centenary silver jubilee on June 23, 2019.

Shimoga diocese Bishop Dr Francis Serrao was the main celebrant of the thanksgiving mass. He offered a special mass in the name of Borimar parishioners residing abroad. He congratulated parish priest Fr Gregory Pereira and vice president of parish pastoral council Roshan Martis for the jubilee arrangements.

Chief guest, Mangaluru Bejai Lourdes Central School principal Fr Robert D’Souza presented mementos to the families of the parishioners residing abroad and felicitated them. Fr Lancy and Victor Dias, Sr Nancy, parish pastoral council secretary Preethi Lancy Pereira were present.

Bishop Dr Francis Serrao was honored by the parish pastoral council.

Parish pastoral council vice president Roshan Martis welcomed the gathering. Church parish priest Fr Gregory Pereira rendered the vote of thanks. Thomas Lasrado who was employed in the Gulf for several years and spending a retired life, compered the programme.

Meals were served to all after mass.

An entertainment programme by ‘Jerry and Jerry Night’ troupe, sponsored by the parishioners employed abroad, was held at the end.
