Vanmahothsav or Vanamahothsava, lit. 'forest festival', is an annual one-week tree-planting festival in India. The Indian national tree planting week was organized by Mohinder Singh Randhawa from 20 to 27 July 1947. Randhawa had been inspired by ideas of a forest week, the festival of trees, or arbor days in various countries.

In the morning session sapling was planted by the members at St Thomas Ward resident Mr Alphonse Pasanna and Lilly Pasannas' house.
In the evening session, a sapling was planted at Vailankani Ward resident Mr. Mouris Martis' house. The members also participated in the Prayer Meet of Vailankani Ward.

Vanamahotsava is observed to spread awareness about the importance of forests, woodlands and trees in our lives. The importance of Vanamahotsava and its significance was narrated to the people present.

Rev Fr Anil Canute Dmello, Parish Priest, Director of Deanery ICYM as well as Mogarnad Unit, Mr Santosh D'Souza, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Ward Gurkars Mr Charles Pereira and Mr Joackim Dsouza, DMYM Animator Mr Prashanth Lewis,  Sr John Paul II Deanery President Mr Praveen Dcunha, Mr Avit Premson Lobo, DMYM Unit President, Ms Melvita Christal Pereira, DMYM Unit Secretary were present along with the DMYM members.
