Our Lady of Mercy, Panir has ancient history associated with it. In the 17th century AD, the church gained importance as it was considered to be the largest in the Dakshina Kannada region. It is through this church’s existence; eventually ten more parishes took birth namely, Fajeru, Karopadi, Vijayadka, Manjeshwara, Bola, Permannuru, Ranipura, Aomeombala, Mudipu and Alyarpadav.
Ranipura was declared an independent parish in 1956 dedicated to Our Lady, the Queen of the Universe Church..
Inauguration of newly Built Presbytery at Ranipura Church :
Confraternity Sunday and the Inauguration of newly built presbytery of the Church was held on 4th February, 2018. Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of the diocese of Mangalore blessed and inaugurated the Presbytery. He also presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration and preached the homily on the importance of Confraternity Sunday. Parish Priest Fr Santhosh DSouza and the faithful were present.
