Fajir, Nov 24 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of Our Lady of Mercy Church , Fajir celebrated Teachers' Day and Children’s Day in association with Bible and Catechism Commission of the parish on 5th November 2023.

The day commenced by seeking Blessings of Almighty.

The Distinguished Guests present on the dais included Rev Fr Anil Joel D Souza- Director and Parish Priest of Fajir, Mr Valerian D Souza and Mr Preetham Noronha – Vice President and Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mr Flywan D Souza- Coordinator of all the commission, Sr Preema D Souza- ICYM Animator and Sr Janet Machado- Superior of the convent. Sr Enet D Souza, Headmistress of St. Joseph Primary School and also the Coordinator of Bible and Catechism Commission and Secretary Mr John Antony Fernandes, Ms Viyolla Ishmitha Lobo & Ms. Joyline Florida Lobo- President and Secretary of ICYM Fajir Unit were also present.

Various Activities including games were conducted for Teachers and Children distinctly and all participated enthusiastically.

A group study was organised for Children and also for Teachers. A role to be a Resource person was played by the ICYM Youth itself.

Topics of the study sessions were:

For Teachers: How can I be an efficient Teacher?
For Students: How can I be an efficient Student?

Sessions were held in three Categories:

For 1st to 3rd Standard , Sessions were led by Mrs Severine D Souza.
For 4th to PUC , Sessions were led by Ms Viyolla Ishmitha Lobo.
For all 21 Teachers , a session was taken separately by Ms Roshal Melita Lobo and Mr Johnson D Souza.

Ms Viyolla Ishmitha Lobo, President of ICYM Fajir Unit welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the program symbolically.

During the event, Rev Fr Anil Joel D Souza, Director and Parish Priest of Fajir addressed everyone and gave an aesthetic message.

A small token of Gratefulness was given to all the Teachers who render their valuable Service. Ms Joyline Florida Lobo, Secretary of ICYM proposed Vote of Thanks. Ms Sweety D Souza assisted as Master of Ceremony.

235 Students were present for the program. Indeed, it was a great success.
