Belthangady, Aug 11 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Belthangady Deanery in association with Ujire unit organised AWAKEN - 2K22 Belthangady deanery mega youth convention on 7th August 2022 at Anugraha hall , Ujire.

Chief guest Fr. Vijay Lobo, principal of Anugraha school, Belthangady Deanery Director Fr. Praveen Dsouza, Ujire unit Director Fr. James Dsouza, parish pastoral council secretary Nithin Monis, Ujire unit Animator Praveen Fernandes, Ujire unit president, secretary and Belthangady deanery president, secretary were present on the dais.

Ujire unit president Rose Priya Pinto welcomed the gathering. All unit Presidents tied ribbons to a candle and the guests on the dais, lit the candle and inaugurated the program which shows the unity of Belthangady deanery youths.

Fr. Vijay Lobo addressed the youths with a message. Fr. Praveen Dsouza spoke a few words about the program and wished good luck for the success of the program. Fr. James Dsouza delivered his presidential remark.

An active member of ICYM Ujire unit and also a member of Gram Panchayat Ujire was honored by the guests. Director Fr. James Dsouza gave mementos to guests as a token of gratitude. 

Ujire unit Secretary Praveen Pinto rendered vote of thanks. Freedel Falleira anchored the program.

Vishma Dcunha, ex Secretary of ICYM Mangalore diocese shared her experience and gave more information about ICYM. 

Fr. Praveen Dsouza offered holy Eucharistic Mass with all youths. After the mass, council members welcomed the KRYC holy Cross to the Deanery.

After the lunch in the afternoon session, Central council members taught some action songs and addressed the gathering. Ujire unit members conducted some group activities and taught some of the action songs. 

Fr. Praveen Dsouza led the adoration of the cross and seeked God's blessings on all the youths. 

Rose Priya Pinto rendered vote of thanks to all sponsors and supporters of the event. The program concluded with the baila dance. Nearly 170 youths participated actively in this youth convention.
