Belthangady, Dec 3 : Annual Day, a celebration a year’s journey of St. Theresa Composite P.U. College, Belthangady was held on November 28, 2023 in the college ground. The president of the functionVery Rev. Sr. Juliana Pais, Co-ordinator for education UFES Mangalore Province, Mr. Girish K.H. Chairman, Kumbhashree Educational Institutions- Venur was the chief guest, Rev. Sr. Theresia Sera Correspondent St. Therese Educational institutions, Mr. Joseph K.J. PTA Vice President, Rev. Sr. Jacintha Baretto, Superior, St. Therese Convent, Sr Leena Dsouza the headmistress of St Therese Kannada & English medium high school were the guests of honour, PTA executive committee members and all the dignitaries present on the occasion were accorded an effusive welcome with a ceremonial guard of honour.

The Principal Sr Arogya welcomed the august gathering and introduced the president and others.The celebration began with a prayer song by students. Sr. Renita Maria Dsouza presented the Annual College Report , college events and activities were wonderfully compiled to a video presentation by lecturer Poojashree.

Rev Sr Juliana Pais addressed the audience and spoke on how proud she felt at the achievements of the students and urged society to be the wind beneath their wings. She applauded the St Therese Institution and its faculty for the encouraging and enabling ambience it has created. She pointed out that all students are the true wealth of the nation and face immense challenges. She exhorted the students to work towards achieving all their dreams, but to make sure that above all they become good human beings. Her insightful message on the occasion served to enhance the vibrant atmosphere.

During the program, students were honoured for sports and co-curricular activities by the President Rev Sr Juliana Pais , Chief guest Mr Girish K H and Guest of honour Sr Thersia Sera, Sr Jacintha Baretto, Mr Joseph J K, and Sr Leena Dsouza. The chief guest addressed the gathering. He articulated that one needs to aim high in order to achieve something in life. He further said that he was delighted with the discipline of the students. He stressed on the fact that student life is the only life where you have abundance of opportunities and advised them to make use of those opportunities.

The cultural programmes were a mesmerizing blend of talent and creativity. Melodious musical renditions and dazzling dance performances enthralled the audience and showcased a cultural diversity and patriotism.

Mr Pradeep Pinto of Physics and Zeeta Dsouza of Kannada department were the charismatic hosts for the formal function, Ms Rishana, and Ms Nafiha served as scintillating emcees for the cultural cornucopia of events and steered the programme with grace. Ms Nancy Sequeira, Dept. of English proposed the vote of thanks.

Mrs Nirupama, Mr Pradeep Pinto, Mrs Nireeksha, Mrs Akshatha, Mrs Sylvia, Mrs Zeeta, Mrs Sunitha, Ms Poojashree, Mrs Pratheeksha and Ms Nancy, the convenors of the event meticulously planned the event under the able guidance of the Principal Sr Arogya. The resounding success of College Day exemplifies the spirit of cooperation and the diligent efforts of the faculty and students and illustrates the values of the institution that lie at the core of its educational ethos.
