Belthangady, Aug 9 : "Donating blood is the most valuable gift one can give"

ICYM Arva unit along with Catholic Sabha, Health Commission and other associations of the parish conducted a blood donation camp on Sunday, 6 August 2023 from 9.30 am to 1pm at the St.Peter Claver School hall with the help of Fr.Muller Medical College, Mangaluru.

The blood donation camp commenced with a short Inaugural programme which was led by Princia Fernandes, vice-president, ICYM Arva.

Fr.Elias D'Souza, Director and Parish priest of Arva; Mr.Steevan Pais, vice-president of parish pastoral council; Dr.Rashmi H, Fr.Mullers medical College, Mangaluru; Devasy Achan, trustee, St.Joseph Church, Kuthlur; Vinu Mathew,trustee, St.Mary's church, Shirlal; Mr.Shiva Bhatt, President of primary agricultural cooperative society of Aladangady; Mr.Ganesh Devadiga, President of milk producers association, Aladangady; Jagadeesh Poojari, President auto rickshaw owners and drivers association, Shirlal; Kevin Rodrigues, Red drop representative, ICYM Mangalore diocese; Elvin Prashanth Dcunha, President, ICYM Belthangady Deanery; Mr.Walter Crasta, President,Catholic Sabha, Arva unit; Supreeth Fernandes, President, ICYM Arva unit; Mrs.Sonia Crasta, representative, Health commision were the dignitaries present on the dais.

Supreeth Fernandes, President, ICYM Arva unit welcomed the gathering. Fr Elias D'Souza addressed the gathering on the importance of blood donation and saving lives and then spoke on the basic requirements and eligibility to be considered as blood donors. Mr.Walter Crasta, President of Catholic Sabha proposed the vote of thanks.

Mr.Rakshith Shivaram, founder of best foundation and Mr.Brendon Cutinha - former red drop representative, Mangalore diocese visited during the event.

There were about 65 kind hearted donors who with their great act of service made this camp a successful one.
