Belthangady, June 26 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement unit of St. Peter Claver Church , Arva along with YCS and Environmental commission celebrated "Parisar Divas-2023" on 24th June at 5.30pm. The objective of this program was to make people more aware and concerned about a healthy environment.

Rev.Fr. Elias D'Souza, ICYM Director; Mr.Leo Pereira - convener, Environmental commission; Mr.Steevan Pais- vice president, parish pastoral council; Mrs.Monica D'Souza - secretary, parish pastoral council; Avinash lobo,YCS Animator; Supreeth Fernandes, ICYM president were present on the dais.

A small stage program was held which began with the prayer song. Mr.Leo Pereira, addressed the gathering on the importance of trees and the need to save them . He explained how India is currently facing a significant decline in the forest reserve and that planting trees plays a vital role in conserving it. The Parish Priest delivered an insightful message on the importance of the environment and also appreciated the youth for organizing this competition.

Post the stage program, saplings were planted around the cemetery. It was indeed a very educative and eco-conscious day for all ICYM members and parishioners present.

Avinash Lobo, YCS Animator delivered vote of thanks. The whole program was compered by Princia, ICYM vice president.
