Bantwal, Jan 5 : ICYM Nainad Unit enthusiastically celebrated Christmas with parishioners on the evening of December 24, 2023, at the St Francis Assisi Church premises following the Holy Eucharistic ceremony.

The event was graced by the presence of parish priest Rev Fr Anil Avild Lobo, Parish Vice President Lancy Dsouza, Secretary Ignesius Rodrigues , Sr. Monthi Dsouza followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Fr Anil Avild Lobo in his inaugural Speech wished everyone gathered the blessings of Christmas and highlighted the importance of Christmas. He said that Christmas brings Joy and Peace.

Various prizes for different events conducted on the occasion of Christmas were then distributed. After the formal stage programme,  cultural programme was started which involved various dances, songs , jokes , skirt performances by ICYM members and parishioners . ICYM members hosted guess and get it, ensuring a joyful atmosphere for everyone.

On December 1st, they got started with the crib work. After weeks of relentless planning, hardwork and execution of the plans by the members, a beautiful crib was finally ready on Christmas Eve.

'Khela Sangam 2023'

On the occasion of Christmas, ICYM Nainad Unit organized “Khela Sangam 2023” on Sunday 17th December, a day filled with fun and games for the parishioners above P.U.C.

The programme commenced with a formal stage programme. Parish priest Rev Fr Anil Avild Lobo, Parish Vice President Lancy Dsouza, Secretary Ignesius Rodrigues , ICYM Animator Avil Moras were the dignitaries for the programme.

ICYM president Ostin Lasrado welcomed the gathering. Belthangandy Deanery president Elvin D'cunha , Vice President Ajay Rodrigues and Jeethan were present for the programme and entertained the parishioners. ICYM members conducted various games such as pull the bull, breaking the pot , slow bike race , slow scooter race etc. All the parishioners took active participation in these games.

Moreover, they organized competitions for the parishioners, including Crib, Star and Greeting card making, which saw significant participation. The event was successfully concluded.

Prizes of "Khela Sangam 2k23" were distributed to the winners on the day of "Christmas Sambhram".
