Belthangady, July 3 : ICYM Belthangady deanery along with Venur unit organised "STAY CAMP 2K22" on 28th and 29th of June 2023 at Navachethana English Medium School Venur for Belthangady deanery council members. The main objective of this camp was to train leaders and to get familiar to the council members.

The camp began with the inaugural program at 6.45 pm,commenced with prayer led by ICYM Venur unit.The program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Rev.Fr.Peter Aranha - director, ICYM Venur unit; Fr.Praveen D'Souza, director,ICYM Belthangady deanery; Mr.Elson D'Souza, resource person of the day; Sr. Anitha Rodrigues and Mr. Arun Dsouza - Animators of ICYM Venur unit, Elvin Prashanth Dcunha- President ,ICYM Belthangady deanery; Lavita Lobo- Secretary,ICYM Belthangady deanery, Anush Crasta- President,ICYM Venur unit and Jenifer Mascarenhas- Secretary,ICYM Venur unit.

After the Inaugural ceremony, Mr. Elson Dsouza presided over the programme. He conducted various group activities for the gathered youths and with every activity was a lesson learnt. He also enlightened the gathering on the importance of ICYM for the youth and the kind of programmes that need to be conducted by them. It was a very interactive, informative and fun learning session.

With the end of the interactive sessions, he then led the gathering in recitation of the holy rosary. This was followed by the delicious dinner.

After dinner, a camp fire was set up and a few activities were again conducted by Mr Elson D'Souza. All gathered around the campfire and brief introductions were made with candle exchanges with the neighbouring members. Everybody then was asked to share their experience as a member of the ICYM from the time of joining. This fun filled night came to end with the baila by DJ Alen, Nainad.

The next morning began with the eucharistic celebration led by Fr.Praveen D'Souza and Fr.Peter Aranha. After this Mr.Elson D'Souza taught action songs as an icebreaking activity followed by the Breakfast. Soon after, there was a small session by Mr.Elson on how one's mindset becomes an important factor for the success of one's life as well as the organisation. He also stressed on the importance of leading a selfless life and creating a win-win situation for oneself and the others.

After this session, there was a meeting of the ICYM belthangady deanery council in which the upcoming deanery programmes were discussed.

The whole programme was concluded with a valedictory programme compered by Melisha Pinto, vice president of Belthangady deanery. Fr. Praveen Dsouza, Sr. Anitha Rodrigues and Mr. Arun Dsouza, Mr. Shawn Serrao - coordinator ,Youth Commission ,Venur; Elvin Prashanth Dcunha, Lavita Lobo, Anush Crasta, Jenifer Mascarenhas were present on the dais.

Anush crasta, President of Venur unit welcomed the guests and the gathering. Sr. Anita Rodrigues appreciated the gathered youth and organizers for putting together a beautiful programme and Fr. Praveen Dsouza addressed the youth with his valuable words. Lavita lobo, secretary, Belthangady deanery rendered vote of thanks.

Post the valedictory programme, Vanamahotsava was celebrated by planting the saplings near the Navachethana school ground, Venur.

An enthusiastic young crowd of 60 members were gathered for the same.
