Bantwal, Nov 27 : The ICYM unit of Infant Jesus Church Bantwal , hosted a grand event in association with Yuva Hitha Samithi under the name "Khela Mel 2k18" on November 25th, 2018. It was organised for all the parishioners for uniting them as a family. The event included various games for different age groups.

At 8.30 a.m all the parishioners gathered at the church grounds and took part in a fun game Bomb In The City after which breakfast was served.

The inaugural function began at 9 a.m with a prayer song led by the ICYM members. Ms Dale Dsilva welcomed the gathering. Mrs Agnes Saldanha , an international level sportswoman hailing from Agrar was the chief guest of the day. Fr Walter Dmello, Parish Priest presided over the function. Mr Sandeep Menezes - Vice president, parish pastoral council, Mr Richard Dsouza - Secretary, Mr Ronald Carlo - coordinator, yuva hitha samithi, Mr Sunil Lewis - Animator ICYM and Mr Avinash Dsouza, president ICYM were the other dignitaries on the dais. The dignitaries inaugrated the event by bursting the balloons.

Fr Walter Dmello addressed the gathering and wished luck to all the participants and the organisers. Mrs Agnes Saldanha conveyed a message to the audience regarding the importance of sports and games in one's physical and mental growth and development. Mr Ronald Carlo proposed the vote of thanks.

Various games like needle thread race, candle relay, obstacle race, cup pyramid, three leg race, egg catch, spot dance were conducted. The ward members took part in it with great zeal and enthusiasm. Lunch was served in the noon to all those who were present.

The valedictory programme was held at 4 p.m. Fr Ashwin Crasta - Asst Parish Priest, Fr. Kiran Pinto - director, ICYM Bantwal Deanery, Ms Reena - branch manager, Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate Co-operative Credit Society Ltd, the main sporpor were present. The main sponsor of the event addressed the gathering during the valedictory and congratulated the parishioners for their active participation and appreciated the hard work put in by the ICYM members. Ms Anisha compered the concluding programme and conducted the prize distribution ceremony.

The event turned out to be a triumphant one with the support and participation of all. All ICYM members put in their full efforts in making the event a great success. Mr Avinash Dsouza , President kept a check over the whole programme throughout the day.
