Mangaluru, Feb 21 : The members of Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of St Antony Church Fermai undertook a pre Lenten service for a needy widow by repairing and renovating her dilapidated house which was completed and blessed on 20th February 2022.

The dynamic youth of the parish sacrificed their free time for the noble cause of the widow, which was highly appreciated by the locals. They ventured to raise the fund by collecting scrap goods from the houses and free will offerings.

Mrs Flavia Dsouza head of the family welcomed the gathering. Mrs Alice Dsouza the elderly lady of the family lighted the lamp to initiate the programme. Rev Fr Louis Cutinha, the Parish Priest of St Antony Church, Fermai blessed the renovated house and hailed the good work undertaken by the youth. Miss Divya Dcunha, the Secretary of ICYM unit gave a brief report of the development of the work. Mr Vijith Fernandes, the Presidentof ICYM unit thanked the locals for their cooperation and generosity. Mr Allen Dsa conducted the programme. 

The ward people and the members of parish pastoral council were present along with ICYM members. Refreshments were served for the gathering.
