Mangaluru , Nov 6 : ICYM Cordel unit organised 'GREEN CORDEL, CLEAN CORDEL !' an initiative to make the church, cemetery, and surrounding areas of the campus, free from plastic, glass, rubber and metal.

On 31st October 2021 at 4:30 pm, the ICYM members along with Rev Fr. Shaun Rodrigues - ICYM Assistant Director, Rev Fr. Jovin Sequeira assistant Parish priest, Dn. Vivek Pinto - the chief guest and the newly appointed deacon, Mr. Lancy Sequeira Parish pastoral council Secretary, Jeevan Lobo Unit president, Lanville Sequeira Unit secretary gathered under St Michael's arch to begin the programme.

God's blessings were invoked through a Prayer by Fr Jovin. The Chief guest Dn. Vivek addressed the Youth on the good initiative. The youth alongside the dignitaries took a pledge to save water, protect the environment , grow plants and to reduce pollution. The inauguration was done by imprinting hand prints on a cloth banner made by the youth of ICYM Cordel. The youth accompanied by YCS Cordel members split into groups and cleaned the area.
