Mangaluru, Feb 4 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) unit of Holy Cross Church, Cordel organized a youth orientation programme –‘YUVA EKVOT-2021’ , on 31st January 2021 , at Frad Saib Hall here.

The programme began with the prayer song led by Lanville Sequeira and team. Deacon Ivan Dsouza welcomed the gathering.

Rev. Fr Victor Machado, Parish Priest of Cordel Parish and Director of ICYM Cordel; Fr Lawerence Cutinha, Asst. parish priest and Asst. Director of ICYM; Fr Shaun Rodrigues, Asst. parish priest, Mr Michael Dsouza Vice President  of Parish Pastrol Council were the dignitaries on the dais.

The guest of honour was Mr Jaison Pereira Shirthady, Karnataka Regional ICYM President. Mr Reinald Lobo introduced the guest of honour.

Rev. Fr Victor Machado addressed the youth and encouraged them to actively participate in all the activities and stay united.

The orientation session began with an ice breaking session led by Jaison Pereira after which Ms Jesvita Quadras, International Youth Advisory Body Member mingled with the youth and shared her experience of youth ministry. Following session was led by Mr Norbert Misquith, Diocesan ICYM Ex-President who inspired the youth with interesting talks and games.  Later on Mr Jason Peirara conducted various games for the youth. The youth also witnessed the presence of Fr Ashwin Cardoza Director ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese, Mr Leon Saldanha ICYM President and other executive committee members.

The day was full of dance, songs, games and a whole lot of fun. 

Ms Avrel Fernandes, secretary of ICYM Cordel unit delivered the words of gratitude to the gathering. Anisha Dsouza compered the programme.The program was concluded with a Mangalorean Baila.
