Mangaluru, Sep 9, 2023 : Monthi Fest was celebrated with devotion at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga on September 8.

Parish Priest Rev. Fr Paul Pinto blessed New paddy grains at the Mother Mary Grotto near belfry. Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Francis Gonsalves led the procession with the cross and bedecked statue of Infant Mary entered the church in a procession.

After the procession, Solemn Mass was celebrated. Fr. Paul Pinto was the main celebrant. He delivered a sermon on the family feast. The liturgy was meaningfully led by the Parishioners from the individual ward.

During the mass ‘Biblothan’ (Bible Marathon initiated by Ephatha Biblical Centre, Commission for Bible Diocese of Mangalore) was formally inaugurated. A Copy of the Holy bible was symbolically handed over to Mr. Ravi Saldanha and his family. He read out a few lines and initiated the Diocesan Biblothan.

Donors were honoured with a candle. Parish Council Secretary Mrs. Zita Usha Fernandes readout the names of the donors. Gurkars and volunteers distributed blessed new grain to the devotees. Offertory was auctioned after the mass by the past and present Parish Pastoral Council members. Cake and Sugar cane were distributed to parishioners to enhance the joy of the nativity feast.
