Mangaluru, July 16 : On the momentous occasion of the foundation day of Bethany Sisters, the words of Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas resonate deeply: "Sanctity is not merely found in experiencing devotion and solace, but rather lies in faithfully carrying out every action in accordance with God's will to the best of our abilities." Established by the SD RFC Mascarenhas on July 16th, 1921, on the feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, fondly known as Bethany Sisters, celebrated with immense joy and gratitude a thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration, held at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Vamanjoor. It brought together the Sisters of St. Raymond's Convent Vamanjoor, along with Provincial Superior Sr. Cicilia Mendonca, her Councilors, Sr. Vithalis the Superior, Sisters, Bethany Lay Associates, Parish Priest Fr. James Dsouza, Assistant Parish Priest Fr. Ivan Ashwin Dsouza, and the entire parish community.

In her introduction, Sr. Shubha beautifully described Bethany as a tree planted by the flowing waters, highlighting how the infant Congregation has grown into a mighty tree spanning three continents: Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Sisters actively engage in Education, Pastoral, Social, and Medical ministries, selflessly reaching out to people with love and sacrifice. Fr. James, the parish priest, emphasized the importance of being fertile soil, nurturing the word of God and bearing witness to Christ in order to yield abundant fruits. He expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Sisters' unwavering dedication and service to the Church and humanity. Mr. Charles Pais, Vice President of the Parish Council, graciously acknowledged the Sisters' invaluable contributions to the Parish, wards, school, and the local community. The Sisters, in turn, shared their joy and unity with the people by distributing scapulars and offering prayers for the Founder to bless their families. The spirit of the day echoed the call to let Bethany grow, flower, and bear fruit.
