Mangaluru, Jan 21 : The annual parish feast of Mother of God Church, Shakthinagar here, was celebrated on 17th January 2021. The donors ('muddhom'), as well as those who rendered their services to the parish were honoured by presenting them the ‘Candle of Honour’ by the Bishop Emeritus Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza.

Prior to the Mass Dr Cyprian Monteiro of the parish was felicitated for obtaining Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Education for his thesis titled "ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಷ್ಟಾನಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಐಸಿಟಿ (ಹಂತ 1 ಮತ್ತು ಹಂತ 2) ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ".

The official Church website shakthinagarchurch.in was inaugurated by the Bishop Emeritus.

Bishop Emeritus  Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza was the main celebrant of the festal mass. Fr Gerald D'Souza , Parish Priest; Fr Nilesh Crasta, Asst Director, Codialbail Press; Fr Antony Shera, Secretary, CBE; Fr Francis Xavier Gomes, Former Parish Priest and  Fr Peter D'Souza, Director, Pastoral Institute concelebrated.

The singing by the Church Choir was melodious and heart lifting. Milagres Brass Band added to the charm of the Annual Parish Feast. A large number of Parishioners attended the festal Holy Mass and shared their joy on the occasion.
