Mangaluru, Aug 22 : The Parish Pastoral Council members of Guardian Angel Church, Angelore organised Konkani singing competition for the parishioners in the Golden Jubilee memorial hall on 21st August 2022 from 3 pm onwards. The singing competition included solo (male and female), duet ( male and female) and mixed duet for children (5 to 11yrs), adolescents (12 to 18 yrs.), young adults ( 19 to 30 yrs.) and above 30yrs and for couples.

The program commenced at 3 pm with introductory note by Renita Menezes. Reema Sequeira read out the rules for the competition. Rev. Fr William Menezes Parish Priest, Rev. Fr Lawrence Cutinha Assistant parish priest, Mr Noel Pinto Vice president, Mrs Lolina Dsouza Secretary of the parish pastoral council, Mr Roshan Patrao in charge of 21 commissions, Mr Felix Moras and Mrs Precilla Sequeira the organisers of the event were the dignitaries present on the dais.

The program commenced with a prayer song. Mrs Precilla Sequeira welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries on the dais inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Rev Fr William Menezes in his inaugural speech congratulated the parishioners for taking active part in the singing competition. Singing always keeps the heart and mind enthusiastic and wished the competition and participants all success.

Rev Fr Shawn Rodrigues, Ms Velita Lobo and Mrs Silvia Fernandes were the judges for the competition. Mrs Silvia on behalf of the judges congratulated all the participants and appreciated the singing. The winners in each category were awarded the prizes by Fr William Menezes, Fr Lawrence Cutinha, Mr Noel Pinto Vice president and Lolina Dsouza Secretary of the parish pastoral council respectively. The judges were also felicitated.

The YCS of Angelore unit entertained the audience with their thrilling dance performance at the end. The program was compered by Kim Noronha and the Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Felix Moras Parish Council Member. Nearly 70 members took part in the singing competition in various categories.
