Mangaluru, Nov 13 : ICYM Episcopal City Deanery organised "Yuva Milan 2K21" programme for the youth of the deanery on 24th October 2021, at Rosario Cathedral Hall with great zest and ardor.

The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was Ms Ruth Clare D’silva, All India 1st rank holder in National level CA examination 2021. Rev. Fr Alfred. J. Pinto - Parish Priest, Rosario Cathedral; Rev. Fr Ashwin Cardoza - ICYM Diocesan Director; Rev. Fr Ronson Pinto - ICYM ECD Director; Jaison Crasta - ICYM Diocesan President; Sanjay D’Souza - ICYM ECD President and Teena Pashao - ICYM ECD Secretary were present on the dais. ICYM Mangalore Diocesan Executive council members were present for the programme.

The programme began with a prayer song led by the youth. Sanjay D’Souza - President , ICYM Episcopal City Deanery welcomed the gathering. Programme was inaugurated in a unique way by the dignitaries. Teena Pashao - Secretary, ICYM Episcopal Deanery read out the Annual report of events conducted by the Deanery for 2019-2021.

Ms. Vishma D’Cunha from Cascia Parish was felicitated on behalf of the Deanery on being elected as the General Secretary of ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

Ms. Ruth D'Silva from Bendur Parish was felicitated on behalf of the Deanery for securing All India Rank 1 in CA exam. In response to the felicitation , Ruth encouraged the youth to dream big and work hard towards achieving their goals.

A token of gratitude was given to Mr. Prashun Neil D'Souza, Urwa for his service to ICYM ECD as Secretary and wished him happy and fruitful married life.

Prizes were distributed for the winners of Magnificat, an online Marian Competition.

Rev. Fr. Alfred. J. Pinto, Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza and Mr. Jaison Crasta conveyed their message.

The inaugural programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Sonali Rodrigues - ICYM ECD Treasurer. Alwyn D'Souza - ICYM ECD Vice President compered the inaugural programme.

This was followed by an Ice breaking session conducted by the ICYM Mangalore Diocesan team.

Mr. Eugine D'Cunha was the resource person of the programme. He took a session on “Problems faced by today's youth” and explained his views on the topic in the most effective manner which was powerful enough to ignite the young minds and bring a change.

The session was followed by the Holy Eucharistic celebration which was celebrated by ICYM ECD Director Fr. Ronson Pinto and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Alfred. J. Pinto - Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo - Assistant Parish Priest,  Rosario Cathedral. Rev. Fr. Vinod Lobo preached the homily.

A delicious and sumptuous lunch was enjoyed by everyone.

Post lunch, 6 units presented cultural performances by exhibiting their talents in the form of song, dance, joke and everyone enjoyed it. Cultural session was compered by Rorthan Coelho - ICYM ECD Joint Secretary.

It was followed by fun activity games conducted by MFC members with the initiative of Jean and the ECD Executive members conducted few games for the youth.

The valedictory programme commenced at 4:30 PM.  V. Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro - Vicar Forane Episcopal City Deanery, Rev. Fr. Ronson Pinto – Director of ICYM ECD, Rev. Fr. Anush D'Cunha - Assistant Parish Priest Bejai, Sanjay Dsouza – President ICYM ECD and Teena Pashao - Secretary ICYM ECD were present on the dais.

V. Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro , Vicar Forane in his message congratulated the youth for being part of the programme and asked the youth to be more active and take the lead wherever needed.

Rev. Fr. Ronson Pinto - ICYM ECD Director announced the prize winners of the group games conducted during the day, online Marian group competition results were also announced. Best unit shield was bagged by ICYM Bendur unit for the highest members present for the event. Valedictory vote of thanks was rendered by Rev. Fr. Ronson Pinto. Carol Maritis - ICYM ECD Auditor compered the valedictory programme.

The session came to an end with Baila. Around 300 youths were present from 11 units.

It was a day of enjoyment for all the youth of the deanery who enthusiastically participated and actively interacted in all the activities and sessions.
